The foundation's goal is to raise awareness about the urgent need to find a cure for spinal cord injuries
It was founded in 2007 by Auður Guðjónsdóttir, a surgical nurse, after her daughter, Hrafnhildur Thoroddsen, sustained a spinal cord injury in an accident.
The Icelandic Spinal Cord Injury Institute (ISCI) is driven by passionate individuals who dedicate their time and expertise entirely on a volunteer basis.
